Aikido Crime Novels by Günter Zorn

Günter Zorn works for a major German company in Tokyo and is passionate about two things: Aikido and writing crime novels. The hero of his series, business manager Jan Wolf, has a tendency to overstretch his sense of justice until he steps on the toes of some ill-natured Yakuza boss. If it hadn't been for his proficiency in Aikido, he would have ended up at the bottom of a koi pond more than once.

Zorn's novels combine a gripping story with a rich description of contemporary Japanese lifestyle and cuisine that make his work a guide book to modern Nippon. Even though he often has an educational undertone and suggests that you might get out of any situation by applying just the right Aikido technique, his novels are highly entertaining and they make perfect bedtime stories for any offsite Aikido camp.

While in Germany, Günter likes to drop in at our dojo to whom he has dedicated a few paragraphs in one of his novels. Unfortunately, his Jan Wolf books have not been translated yet, but he has started publishing other books in English (go to www.guenterzorn.com for more details).
